RK LOGISTICS GROUP TEAMS UP WITH MODE TRANSPORTATION FOR FREIGHT BROKERAGE
New RK division joins Mode Transportation network as independent business operation, bolsters capabilities for truckload freight brokerage, integrated multimodal solutions
Fremont, CA – October 4, 2018 — RK Logistics Group, a Silicon Valley leader in third-party logistics (3PL), today announced it has expanded its service line-up with the opening of a freight brokerage operation with Mode Transportation.
Operating under the name RKG Mode LLC, the new division complements the company’s service portfolio with new capabilities for local, regional and nationwide truckload less-than-truckload, intermodal, ocean, parcel and integrated transportation management services.
RKG Mode will operate as an independent agent of Mode Transportation, which provides an industry-leading technology platform and access to one of the largest networks of domestic and global transportation capacity in the U.S.
“Companies want reliable, cost-effective transportation capacity to meet the demands of today’s high-velocity supply chains,” said Rock Magnan, president of RK Logistics Group. “With the launch of RKG Mode LLC, we’ve significantly expanded our footprint of flexible, high-value logistics and transportation management capabilities.”
Jim Damman, President and CEO of Mode Transportation said, “We are excited to have RKG Mode join the Mode Transportation family. The company has a tremendous reputation for outstanding service. We are looking forward to working with them.”
Magnan emphasized the strategic importance of the RKG Mode launch for RK’s customers particularly in today’s market where truck capacity is extremely tight and securing trucks for customer loads an ongoing challenge.
“By joining the Mode Transportation network, we gain immediate access to reliable, quality capacity, industry-leading technology, economies of scale and the buying power of a large network,” Magnan said. “We’re bringing a more complete package to the table, offering our customers a broader array of cost-effective, integrated logistics, warehousing and transportation solutions, whether local, regional or national.”
RK Mode joins a Mode Transportation network which includes over 35,000 active trucking companies and over 2 million pieces of equipment. In addition to dry-van truckload, the network provides access to other specialized transportation equipment including refrigerated, flatbed, step-deck, expedite, specialized and heavy haul. Services encompass the full spectrum of multimodal transportation needs, including truckload, less than truckload, intermodal, rail, air, ocean, parcel and managed transportation services.
RKG Mode also will leverage Mode Transportation’s proven transportation management technology platform, providing full load planning and booking, execution, real-time shipment visibility, settlement, performance analytics and reporting.
